USF Ultimate Frisbee

The University of Sioux Falls Ultimate Frisbee team made it’s debut this past Halloween weekend in Winona. Rachel Polson, a USF Junior, described how the Ultimate Frisbee team came about.

“We used to just play pick up Sophomore year, Freshman year, and wanted to make it an official sport,” said Polson.

Though it was their first ever tournament as an official team, the USF students still found a way to have fun and ring in the holiday spirit.

“We dressed up as the characters from Pawnee (which) is a show called Parks and Recreation,” said Polson.

Though they weren’t expecting to dominate in the tournament, Polson was still impressed with their performance.

“Our goal was to just score some points but we actually won a game and we did a lot better than we have been doing,” said Polson.

“I belive we were 5th place in our bracket ad 10th overall,” said Wesley Theis a USF senior and member of the Ultimate Frisbee team, “so not bad for having only existed for two years and having a lot of these team members be pretty new.”
